《論語》《述而》7.3 :

子曰：「德之不脩，學之不講，聞義不能徙，不善不能改，是吾憂也。」

The Master said, “The learning virtue without proper cultivation; the not thoroughly discussing what is learned; not being able to move towards righteousness of which a knowledge is gained; and not being able to change what is not good – these are the things which occasion me solicitude.”

【Alternative translation】The Master said, “Not making the most of my mind, want of thoroughness in learning, failure to do the right when told it, lack of strength to overcome faults; these are my sorrows.”

【現代漢語翻譯】孔子說：「對品德不進行培養，對學問不進行鑽研，聽到好人好事不能跟著做，有了錯誤不能及時改正，這就是我所擔憂的。」

【原文】子曰：「德之不修，学之不讲，闻义不能徙，不善不能改，是吾忧也。」

【白话解】孔子说：「品德不用心修养，学问不勤敏学习，义所当为时，不能努力以赴，知错不能勇于改过，这些都是我的忧虑啊！」      ※ 子曰：「过则勿惮改；知错能改，善莫大焉！」

【试译】孔子说：“品德不修习，学问不研讨，听到道义不能掉转头来跟上去，发现不好的不能去掉，都是我担忧的。”
